I've used single and twin versions from SHM very successfully on several scale models for a combination of easy starting without external access and reliability. They're quite economical on battery life - when I went to change the battery after 8 seasons in my Chipmunk I was surprised to find it was only a 1200mAh NiCd rather than the 2400mAh one I thought I'd remembered fitting when I built the model!
